Art Basel will be here before you know it! The annual art event has been making the news a lot lately thanks to its many galleries and events set to take place. As one of the most important art-themed events in South Florida, this year the art will be bigger and bolder, and local restaurants are also getting in on the Miami Art Week action expected to draw hundreds of people.
The Alter restaurant in Miami, for example, will be teaming up with reservation service Table8 to play host to several different exclusive dinners prepared by owner and chef Brad Kilgore. The dishes are specifically themed and designed around Art Basel, though guests will still be able to enjoy the restaurant’s regular menu. The five-night event starts on December 1st through the 5th and will feature two seatings per night, at 7:00 and 9:30 pm.
Over at the Sunset Ice Cream at Hyde Midtown Suites & Residences, you’ll be able to try a variety of tasty “edible monochrome” treats courtesy of Spencer Finch and his solar-powered ice-cream truck, set to make its Art Basel debut. The solar power distills the colors of the sunset into tasty soft-serve ice-cream cones. The sun-themed treats are complimentary during Art Basel and it will be available on December 1st from 5 to 10 pm and then from December 2nd through the 5th from 1 to 8 pm.
